S5 E1: Carmelo the Science Fellow
September 2, 2021
Overview:
Welcome to Season 5 of the Better Learning Podcast! We’ve got a terrific guest kicking off our new season – Carmelo Piazza has been teaching science for almost two decades, including a 16 year stint at Brooklyn’s PS 261 where he taught students that aged from 4 through 11. Carmelo is also the author of Crazy for Science with Carmelo the Science Fellow that takes a dive into at-home science experiments that focus on scientific observation, exploration, and analysis for children of a young age. He also opened the Brooklyn Preschool of Science in Cobble Hill back in 2013 that gives children a place to grow, play, and learn through hands-on, inquiry-based science. Thank you to Carmelo Piazza for having an open, honest conversation about being a school leader in today’s environment.
